-There are forty students. 有四十名学生。
结构：How many + cn.pl. +be there +其他？......有多少？
2. Is there a lof of furniture? 有许多家具吗？
a lot of = lots of 大量，许多（可修饰cn.和un.）
a lot of / lots of + cn.pl. = many + cn.pl.
a lot of / lots of + un. = much + un.
3. There's a map of the world in our classroom, but there aren't any pictures on our walls. 在我们教室里有一张世界地图，但我们的墙上没有图片。
4. Linda, what's your classroom in England like? 琳达，在英国你们的教室是什么样子的？
（1）What’s…like? 用来询问“……是什么样？”
*What’s + sth. + like? 某物是什么样子的？（用于询问某物的特点，性质等）
e.g. -What’s your school like? 你的学校是什么样的？
-It’s clean and beautiful. 它干净又美丽。
*What’s + sb. + like? 某人是什么样的人？（提问性格、品质）
e.g. -What’s your wife like? 你妻子是什么样的人？
-She is very considerate. 她很体贴。
（2）What + be + sb. + like? 与What do/does + sb. + look like?
*What + be + sb. + like? 某人是什么样的人？（提问性格、品质）
e.g. -What's Tom like? 汤姆是个什么样的人？
-He is friendly and helpful. 他友好且乐于助人。
*What do/does + sb. + look like? 某人长得怎么样？（提问长相、外貌）
e.g. -What does Betty look like? 贝蒂长得怎么样？
-She is tall, and she has brown hair. 她个子很高，一头棕发。
